Baja Malibu, Baja Norte

Baja Malibu is one of the best beach breaks in northern Baja and just a short trip across the border.  Baja Malibu offers up thick, steep barreling waves for experienced surfers only.

When it is big the paddle out is punishing, so be prepared to pay your dues. The payoff is spitting barrels that reel off on all swell directions.

Bring a board with some extra length if the swell is overhead…you are going to need it. Baja Malibu works best on a medium to low tide.

Surfers advice:  Use caution during the winter months, as north swells can push sewage from the treatment plant a few kilometers north of here, giving the water a grayish tint and a not so pleasant smell.

Getting there: 15 miles South of the boarder take the Baja Malibu exit from the toll road and park on the dead-end street on the north side of the Baja Malibu housing development.
